I will run, walk or cycle at least 100km in September!

It all begins tomorrow!

It’s 1st September tomorrow which means the commencement of ‘your way any day’ and the start of my challenge to hit 100km of walking and running by the end of the month!

I will…

After much deliberation I have decided to change my ‘I will’ again due to the recovery of my foot. So, my target is now 100km run or walk! 🤞🏼 I can do it! It’ll be a mission but I think I can do it! After all, it’s for a great cause!

Changing my ‘I will’

I ran 43km in July and walked 47km, totalling a distance of 90km. I am pretty happy with that considering I’ve only just got back into running.

However my toe has been a bit sore recently and don’t want push it so I’m thinking of adjusting my ‘Your way any day’ goal as I’m wondering if 100km of running in September might be a bit too much for me!

Maybe I’ll aim for 60km running and 60km walking!

Let’s see how August goes and I’ll go from there!

A big thanks…

This is quite a personal post! A friend of mine who I met a college in UK over 30 years ago, lost her husband to a brain tumour just a few months ago! It was extremely aggressive and Steve lost his life just a few months after diagnosis!

Now I know Steve was an adult and this fundraising is for children with brain cancer but his wife, Tracey, has generously donated to the cause, which brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye when I read the email and saw Tracey was supporting me! What an incredible lady!

Tracey, you are incredible! I thank you from the bottom of my heart and will be thinking of you throughout my journey from now until the end of September! ❤️❤️❤️

And so it begins…

The challenge doesn’t officially start until September but I have already raised over $400! Thanks 🙏🏼 so much to all who have donated so far! I am humbled that I am often supported so generously by the same people each year! 😘

I'm fundraising for kids with brain cancer!

I’m doing Connor’s Run to support the brave and awesome kids fighting brain cancer - the #1 disease killer of young people, and to fund the science that will one day end paediatric brain cancer.

Brain cancer research is on the tipping point. We can all be part of making important breakthroughs happen. My participation is something that I can do to support the science and in the meantime the patients. For all the people out there currently battling brain tumours and for those who couldn’t wait for research to progress any longer.

I’m doing this because I know we can find a way to make brain cancer go the way of the dinosaurs. Make a donation to my page and be part of making brains matter, together we can change the odds for young people.
