I will Be the voice of reason in times of turmoil
Earth, Wind, & Fire - It’s SEPTEMBER!
There’s something magical about Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.” The moment those vibrant horns and joyful melodies fill the air, you can’t help but feel uplifted. It’s a song that invites you to dance, no matter what life is throwing your way, reminding us all to find joy even in the most challenging times.
But as much as “September” is a celebration, it also resonates on a deeper level when you think about the battles that some face—battles like pediatric brain cancer. Just as “September” fills us with a sense of hope and resilience, so too does the fight against this devastating disease. Pediatric brain cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children, and yet, in the face of such a formidable opponent, these young fighters and their families display a spirit that is nothing short of remarkable.
I’m participating in Connor’s Run for exactly that reason. The courage of these children, who face brain cancer with unwavering strength, is an inspiration to us all. And just as “September” is about celebrating the present while looking toward the future, Connor’s Run is about supporting the research that will one day lead to a cure.
Brain cancer research is on the cusp of breakthroughs that could transform how we treat and, ultimately, defeat this disease. My involvement in Connor’s Run is my way of contributing to this critical cause—of helping to fund the science that will give these children a fighting chance. I’m running not just for the joy of the moment, but for the promise of a future where no child has to face brain cancer.
The connection between “September” and this cause may seem unexpected, but the song’s message of joy, resilience, and hope is exactly what drives me to support this fight. Every note of “September” reminds us that even in the toughest times, we can find reasons to dance, reasons to hope.
As I prepare for Connor’s Run, I carry that spirit with me. I’m running for the children who are battling brain cancer today, and for those we’ve lost who couldn’t wait for the breakthroughs that are now within our reach. I’m running because I believe that with enough support, we can make brain cancer a distant memory, just like a long-ago September day.
I invite you to join me in this effort. By donating to my Connor’s Run page, you can help fund the research that will change the odds for these kids. Together, we can make brain cancer a thing of the past. Let’s make every step count, just as we do every time “September” plays—because when we come together, we have the power to change lives and create a future full of hope.
